Oklahoma Autism Resources

The Oklahoma Family Center for Autism has become
AutismOklahoma.org!

The local grassroots nonprofit, AutismOklahoma.org, provides support groups in the following areas: BlanchardCanadian Valley, Edmond, MuskogeeNorman, Oklahoma City, ShawneeStillwater and as a huge bonus to our community, we have had the privilege to add a Latino support group so that all of our families, caregivers and educators can benefit the most from what we have to offer across the state of Oklahoma!

All groups meet at least once a month. Each parent support group provides a unique program to meet the needs of families who regularly attend the meetings. You can expect to find the following at each parent support group:
  • parent panels
  • opportunities for parent Q&A
  • experts on autism related topics
  • teachers
  • private professionals
  • open discussions
  • support and acceptance!
The groups also host family events called “Family Fun Nights”. Child care is usually available during most of our meetings, but registration is required. Additionally, some groups may have social groups for teens and young adults. Check out the support group pages for a complete list of each group's programs!

The goal of the PieceWalk program is to fund projects in Oklahoma that will improve awareness, education, and quality of life for families affected by autism. This year, AutismOklahoma.org is experiencing exponential growth. In order to fund our growth, the board is considering new investment strategies that will enable AutismOklahoma.org to build our infrastructure and continue to serve more families. We are committed and will remain true to our goals and mission for serving Oklahomans affected by autism. And we are all motivated and excited for the opportunity to make a difference! Good luck in your fundraising. Thank you to all the sponsors, teams, families and friends who will make PieceWalk 2016 the best ever! We are truly amazed by what this group can do!
For the past seven years, we have achieved our goal of providing grants by selecting and funding evidence-based programs and research that benefit families in Oklahoma. In the past three years, AutismOklahoma.org has generously awarded over $87,500 grants! It is an honor to be a part of these projects and have a front row seat to see the results! Thank you to all the families and friends who participated in the walk this last year to make this happen! For information on the PieceWalk and 5K, you can follow @PieceWalk on twitter!

Please email lorrieservati@yahoo.com if you offer products, resources, and or services in Oklahoma that would benefit all individuals
(children and adults, alike) on the autism spectrum. I would be honored and I look forward to hearing from you!
